BEAUTY | Nicole Guerriero x Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, Is It Worth The Hype?
How could I possibly say no to an Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighting palette? I had been putting off buying one for such a long time because I D O N O T need anymore highlighters!! However, when I saw the Nicole Guerriero x Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, I couldn’t resist any longer! The only thing is, I now want to own all of the ABH highlighting kits..
I’m always late to publish my posts on anything that’s highly raved about, but as always I prefer to be fashionably late.. I always find that there is an overload of blog posts about a new popular product, all pretty much saying the same things, so I like to leave it a while before posting mine anyway – just so you’re not all bombarded with the same post feeling all deja vú!!
The first thing I love about this palette, is the fact that it’s baby pink – it’s so cute! I feel like Anastasia Beverly Hills packaging is always on point. When I swatched each highlighter, they were so incredibly smooth and very pigmented. No chunky bits of glitter in sight!
This palette does feel very luxe and you get pretty decent sized highlighters – especially for the price (£39, making each individual shade only £6.50!)
Now onto the shades, which are very different for me I must say. I tend to lean towards more honey and peach hued highlighters (think Mary Lou Manizer by theBalm, Prosecco & Champagne Pop by BECCA Cosmetics and Soft & Gentle by MAC), rather than white, pink and orange/brown hues – so it does seem a little strange that I even purchased this palette in the first place, I know! However, I loved the look of it and wanted to step out of my ‘highlighter comfort zone’ and try a few new shades.
I usually mix together Glo Getter and Forever Young, so those two shades are definitely my faves. I don’t really use Forever Lit as it’s veeery pale, even for me! However, looking at it now in the above swatch I feel like if I mixed it with the shade 143 then it could work for me. Kitty Kat is quite a pink toned shade, so I prefer to use this one as more of a highlighting blush on a more natural makeup day. As for Daydream, I just don’t think I will ever use it to be honest – I just can’t see it working on my extremely pale with yellow undertone skin!
The quality of each of the shades is obviously amazing, they do not differ from one another in that respect. They’re all as pigmented as each other, even Forever Lit which I was quite surprised by, as the lighter shades often aren’t anywhere near as pigmented as the bolder shades.
So, is this highlighting palette worth all of the hype? In my opinion, I would think so. Would I recommend you to purchase it? Possibly not. Only because I feel like some of the shades aren’t wearable for everyone, especially us pale skinned gals. I think that these highlighters would look a m a z i n g with a tan and I do really like how each shade has a different undertone to it, so there is at least one shade for everyone.
Have you purchased the ABH x Nicole Guerriero Highlighting Palette? What are your thoughts on it?xoxo
