GUIDES | Autumnal Birthday Gift Guide
My boyfriend’s sister’s birthday is coming up next month and I thought it would be a good idea to share an Autumnal themed gift guide!
Any excuse for Autumnal/Wintery gifts right?! I’ve spotted a few things that would be perfect for a gift and to be honest, it doesn’t even have to be a special occasion, like someone’s birthday, you could buy any of these for yourself or for a loved one ‘just because’.
This time of the year is my favourite time for giving, I love buying gifts for people and seeing them happy.
September, October, November and December (so basically Autumn/Winter) are the perfect months for pampering yourself. Run a bubble bath, grab some pampering goodies (bath bombs, moisturising shower gels, body lotions, etc.), stick on a few candles and grab a book (or your laptop for videos, whatever floats your boat) and R E L A X. L’Occitane have some lovely beauty gift sets available at the moment and I love the sound of this Delicate Cherry Blossom Collection. Included in this gift set is a 75ml Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette, 250ml Cherry Blossom Shower Gel, 250ml Cherry Blossom Shimmering Lotion and a 30ml Cherry Blossom hand Cream. L’Occitane also have Shea Butter Award Winning Duo that also sounds amazing and includes a 150ml Hand Cream and a 150ml Foot Cream. I definitely now want one of these for myself!
You can never go wrong with a candle and Diptyque sell amazing ones. I know Lydia Millen loves these and they’re definitely more of a luxurious candle, therefore perfect as a gift. The Diptyque Vanille Scented Candle sounds lovely and who doesn’t love a great vanilla scented candle?! A cheaper alternative is a new find for me, the Sainsbury’s Home Fig Leaf and Elderberry Candle – this literally smells incredible and I can’t get enough of it. I managed to pick up the three wick version (which I sadly believe to be discontinued now?) on sale a couple of weeks ago and I’m obsessed.
One day I will own something from Jo Malone, but as far as gifts go anything from Jo Malone would be welcomed with opened arms any day of the week! Especially the Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne – oh my goodness, I’ve definitely smelt this before and I fell in love! I would be more than happy to receive this as a gift (that reminds me, I’ll add it to my Christmas wishlist!).
I might be the only one, but I love receiving mugs and I’m sure any hot drink lover would as well. Cath Kidston sell some lovely mugs that I’m always swooning over. My boyfriend’s sister goes camping quite a lot, so this Littlemore Flowers Set of 4 Stackable Mugs would be perfect for her. This Mushroom Isabel Mug is soo cute as well, I love it!
Other gift ideas:
- A book
- A DVD
- Phone Case
- Photo Frame (with a photo in of course)
Hopefully a few of these ideas gave you some inspiration if you were stuck! I always find it difficult buying for people, as I second guess myself because I don’t want to disappoint them. This list has definitely given me some inspiration for what to buy and it’s made me lust after a few things for myself..
