LIFESTYLE | My Favourite Christmas Films

I thought it would be nice to share my favourite Christmas films, that always get me in the Christmas spirit!

Let’s get the first confession out of the way shall we? I’ve only ever seen The Grinch once.. I watched it for the first time last Christmas.. I know, who even am I?!

I was one of those kids that got freaked out by everything and I didn’t like the look of The Grinch or the weird faces (see what I mean here – the weird noses/mouth’s really freaked me out, obviously they don’t anymore, just thought I’d clarify that).

The second confession is that I’ve seen Elf, but I can’t say that I’m a massive fan of it. I would watch it again, but I would prefer to watch something else. This post is becoming a little controversial right?!

Anyway.. Let’s get onto some of my fave Christmas films

The Grinch

As I said previously, I watched this for the first time last Christmas (actually on Christmas Day to be precise) and I absolutely flipping loved it! I don’t know why it took me soo long to watch it. It’s hilarious and such a feel good movie. I can imagine you’ve all seen it anyway, but if you haven’t then I urge you to!

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

This is one to sit down with the whole family and watch, my dad’s laugh tends to make this film 10x funnier. It’s a feel good movie that’s a little cringey but totally funny – you’ll know what I mean if you’ve seen it before! We usually watch this one every year as a family and it still cracks me up.

The Holiday

Cameron Diaz is one of my favourite actresses so of course I love this film! I love the swapping of lifestyles and obviously the love story. Another feel good Christmas film that would be perfect to watch whilst snuggled under your duvet in bed with a hot choc! Especially if it’s raining outside – this is a super cosy film.

Fred Claus

The sibling rivalry in Fred Claus is light hearted and funny, but I love the meaning behind it. If you enjoy watching scrooge characters fall in love with Christmas, then this one would be a great one to watch.

Deck the Halls

Fairly similar to National Lampoon’s, in the way of ‘doing one better’ but this time with neighbours/two couple’s – who can have the most festive looking house. Another hilarious watch that will have you laughing till your belly hurts. I haven’t seen this one for a year or two, so I’m looking forward to sitting down and getting stuck into this one again!

Four Christmases

Reese Witherspoon is possibly my all time favourite actress (her and Kate Hudson are pretty close..) so any film with her in and I’m sold. I love the family feel to this one and the reality of having to split yourself here, there and everywhere on Christmas Day. All the films I’ve spoke about are all feel good, easy watches.
