TRAVEL | A Christmas Trip to London

Our Christmas trip to London was soo fun! Keep reading to hear what we got up to…

Accommodation

We stayed in The Hoxton, Holborn and we definitely highly recommend staying in this hotel. It was in a pretty fab location IMO, two underground stops away from Oxford Circus and the atmosphere of the hotel was constantly buzzing which was really nice.

Apologies for the low quality photos of our hotel, they were taken on my phone cos I completely forgot I had my camera!

Winter Wonderland

The main reason for our stay in London, was because I desperately wanted to go back and visit Winter Wonderland! I’ve been once before and absolutely loved it and I was soo excited to go back again this year.

It was pretty manic, as you can imagine, so we didn’t bother with any of the rides and we missed the showing of Cinderella on Ice which was a little disappointing, but we wandered around and had a hot chocolate – of course – and then also rested our butts inside the beer tent and I got myself a hot apple cider, which was super yummy!

After Winter Wonderland we headed to El Pirata, a Spanish tapas restaurant. The food was a m a z i n g! We got six little dishes because we both definitely eat way too much food and we demolished the whole lot – neither of us were surprised to find out that it’s been voted the best Spanish restaurant in London.

Food

I promise I did not know that there was a pancake house opposite our hotel! You definitely wouldn’t believe me if you knew me in real life, as I’m obsessed with pancakes and I couldn’t believe our luck when we spotted it across the street!

We both had pancakes – obviously – Kieran’s was absolutely massive and mine were soo yummy. I adore maple syrup pancakes and the small mini ones (poffertjes) were perfect for me.

We then took a trip to Peggy Porschen which I have wanted to do for the longest time! I’ve seen so many fellow bloggers and Instagrammers go there and it looked soo pretty and right up my street. I was also thankful for the amount of people who also had their cameras and were taking photos, as it made me feel a little less awkward!

I treated myself to a hot chocolate – the biggest hot chocolate I’ve ever had, it was bigger than my head! – and an extremely yummy gingerbread cupcake.

We had such a fun time in London and it obviously won’t be our last trip there! I want to visit Winter Wonderland again next year, so maybe this time we’ll visit at the beginning of the month in the hope that it won’t be as busy.
