SKINCARE | My Full Face Routine

Today I’m sharing my full skincare routine and all of the products that I use!

Admittedly, I definitely don’t perform this routine as often as I should which I know is really naughty and it’s something I’m working on in 2018! That being said, I love the satisfaction of using all of these gorgeous products and my skin always feels so clean and clear after using it all.

So without further ado, here is my step by step full skincare routine!

The first step in my routine is to cleanse (this is if I don’t have makeup on, if I do have makeup on then I will dampen my face with water and use the Garnier Micellar Gel Wash to remove my makeup) and to do this I use my Magnitone Facial Cleansing Brush with the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. These two products are a complete match made in heaven! They work perfectly together and my skin always feel super soft after using these two. (Read my full review on the Magnitone here).

I was recently gifted the Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water by Wishtrend* and I’ve been trialling it out by incorporating it into my current routine. So far so good, it’s left my skin looking a lot clearer and smoother and it’s a super easy skincare product to have added into my routine. It’s too soon to know if it’s a miracle worker or not and, to be fair, my skin is pretty good anyway – I’m fortunate enough to be one of those people that doesn’t suffer with bad breakouts or uneven skin tone, etc. (That being said, my skin can look pretty dull, I have a bit of redness on and around my nose and I do suffer with really bad dark under eye circles). However, I will keep updating you guys with how I’m getting on with it.

Oil & Creams

Through the lovely Kelsey’s recommendation, I bought the Pai Rosehip Oil. I had been after an oil for a while and didn’t know which one to go for. I’ve heard that Rosehip is good for reducing inflammation, which I suffer with on and around my nose with redness, so I’m really happy I opted for this one. I definitely notice my redness being reduced the following morning after I’ve used this oil, I just really need to use it more and put it completely to the test! (Here’s a good article to read if you would like to know the benefits of using Rosehip – I just stumbled across it whilst writing this post and thought it might be helpful to read).

My moisturiser of choice is the Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Relief Cream, which has been in my routine for two or more years now. I completely swear by it and it’s an amazing product to use for those who do suffer with redness. It’s a nice fairly thick cream that I apply liberally on top of my facial oil and my skin feels super hydrated. It is green in colour which obviously helps to diminish those pesky red areas.

I’ve only used two eye creams in my skincare life, the Clinique All About Eyes and the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. The latter being my current one. I think I love both of these just as much as the other, however they are completely different. The Clinique offering is super lightweight, has a gel-like consistency and is baby pink/peach-y in colour, which made my under eyes feel extremely hydrated and baby soft the morning after. The Kiehl’s offering is a lot thicker and is green in colour. It’s still very hydrating, however I don’t feel as if my under eyes are as soft as when I use the Clinique one. I’m not a skincare expert, so I don’t actually know which one is better for me, but if I had to repurchase one or the other I would go with the Clinique one. I don’t find either of these to have helped with my dark under eyes, but then again I don’t use them every morning and night so that’s probably my problem!

I feel like the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea could be a product that isn’t actually doing anything, but I love it nonetheless! It feels extremely hydrating and refreshing on the skin and I do feel as if it has helped my hydration levels, along with all of the other products mentioned of course. Again it’s green, which I’m clearly drawn to, so should help with redness.

One thing I try not to forget to hydrate once I’ve done my full face routine, is my lips. I keep lip balm on my bedside table, in my coat pocket, in my handbags and on my desk in work – admittedly I only use them when my lips are feeling super dry, but I do like to include this final step in my routine, even when I don’t have super dry and chapped lips. My current fave is the Glossier Balm Dot Com in Coconut – it smells amazing and my lips are pretty much completely repaired come the following morning, it’s a little miracle worker!

The following morning, I may also apply the Glossier Priming Moisturiser, just because it keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day and it also helps to slightly blur any imperfections and just improve the look and texture of my skin. I always apply this before makeup as well, as my foundation sits so nicely upon this. I recommend this primer/moisturiser to anyone and everyone!
