MONTHLY | May Loves
May was definitely a very busy month for me, I had so much planned and generally did a lot!
May was a super busy month for me – I had my birthday over the weekend of the 12th and got up to a lot and then I followed that by going to Bali for 10 days a couple of days after!
Sharing The Love
Blog: I absolutely love a good food post because I am too obsessed with food, it’s actually worrying.. So Morgan’s NYC Food Diary gave me all the feels, especially because I am d y i n g to visit New York and I have saved this post for future reference. The French Toast Morgan spoke about in this post honestly made my mouth water, it looks delicious and I don’t think I’ve ever actually tried french toast?! So this definitely needs to change.
Instagram: Gemma’s account is one of my faves (I know I say this a lot, but can you really blame me?!), so every month I always have a favourite IG post of Gemma’s and May’s favourite was a lifestyle shot Gemma took which I was and still am completely obsessed with. We all know that Gemma kills the game when it comes to her photography, so if you don’t follow her account then you’re seriously missing out!
Twitter: Chloe’s tweets always make me giggle, I love how she just tweets whatever she wants and I’m not surprised that a lot of tweet’s get a lot of likes! This one about the Royal Wedding really did make me laugh, so I’m sharing it with you guys.
My Most Loved
Blog: My monthly posts are still proving a hit with all of you, which obviously still makes me very happy because these posts are completely my own and that gives me confidence to write about whatever I want to write about, as I know you guys will support me – so thank you so much! So as you can tell, my April Loves post was my most loved post of last month.
Instagram: This photo that I also featured in this post and my April Loves post was my most loved IG post of last month! It looks like everyone loves a good cosy hot chocolate photo..
Fave Skincare Product: The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I still need to post my full review of this product.
Fave Song: No Tears Left To Cry – Ariana Grande. Such a tune and I love Ariana Grande!
Fave Food: Camembert. I’m always obsessed with Camembert, but I had it more so than usual throughout May and I’m definitely not complaining about that..
Fave Restaurant: Zibiru, Seminyak, Bali. I had the best tomato, mozzarella and basil panini and I can’t stop thinking about it! I will be popping up a post very soon featuring places to eat in Bali, so keep an eye out for that!
Fave Purchase: Probably these trousers from Billabong. Definitely not a shop I’ve shopped in before and I was honestly just as surprised as everyone else to find beautiful trousers like these in there! I can’t find these trousers online which is super annoying, so apologies for the bad quality shop selfie..
Fave TV Show: I haven’t watched much TV at all this month, so I’m still loving How I Met Your Mother!
Fave Film: Pitch Perfect 3. I watched this on the plane to Bali and absolutely loved it! Anna Kendrick is one of my favourite actresses and Pitch Perfect is just such a feel good watch.
Fave Emoji: 🙌🏼 – Everything revolved around this emoji in May, as I was constantly ‘YAAAAS’ ing!
Fave Game: Wordsearch. I bought a good old fashioned paper word search book for the plane journey and I forgot how good they are!
Fave Event: My birthday. We went to the Bristol Foodies Festival and did Locked In A Room – the whole day was awesome and I had a fab time celebrating with my friends.
Fave Place: Bali. Obviously!?
Instagram: I have discovered some absolute gems on Instagram this month that all deserve as much recognition as humanly possible! My first discovery is The Skincare Diary – all you skincare lovers will be obsessed with Kate’s account.
Instagram: My second discovery of the month was the gorgeous Brynn. I’m always obsessed with US accounts and Brynn has been no exception – accounts like Brynn’s always make me wanna jet off to America and really up my lifestyle content! Bryan deserves way more than 700 followers, so I highly suggest popping over and giving her a follow!
Instagram: My third discovery of the month was Jess’ account. Jess is super close to 1k so please do follow her! I love how bright and colourful Jess’ account is and how it’s still pastel at the same time – I love how she edits her photos and her account is another lifestyle account I would kill for mine to look like!
Instagram: My fourth discovery was the super pretty Elizabeth and I adore the burnt red/orange tones in her feed. I fall in love with every photo Elizabeth posts and she is another one that deserves way more recognition and followers than she has!
Instagram: My fifth and final discovery is the beautiful Carolin. Carolin’s account is stunning and the tones within her feed are right up my street. A slightly more well known account that’s for sure, but still beautiful nonetheless and new to me! So definitely give her a follow if she’s new to you too.
Looking Forward To
Booking: Disneyland Paris for the beginning of July! I’m so excited you don’t even know..
Celebrating: My friend’s birthday and also her housewarming too, as she’s just moved in to a flat in Bristol!
Watching: The Greatest Showman – if it’s out on Sky/the tellie yet?!
Seeing: My bridesmaid dress for the first time hopefully. I’ll be going shopping very soon and I’m super excited!
Buying: My friend’s birthday and housewarming present’s!
Eating: A slightly more healthy diet. I ate fairly badly throughout May, due to it being my birthday and going on holiday, so I need to start the healthy eating again – I always feel better for it anyway.
Instagram: 3.2k still.. I’m soo close to 3.3k, I’ve hit another wall and am finding it impossible to grow. However, I am liking my feed at the moment and that’s the main thing I wanted to achieve again.
Blog Views: 600+ – obviously a massive dip due to not posting, but still not bad considering I only posted 4 times this month!
BlogLovin’ Count: 574 – steady growth as usual and I really hope I can hit between 750 and 1k by the end of the year!
Blog Posts: 4. As I’ve already mentioned a million and one times, it was my birthday and holiday month so I gave myself a bit of a break and didn’t schedule any blog posts to go live whilst I was away. I am definitely paying for that now I’m back, but it felt good to just focus on Instagram for a bit and get my feed to somewhere I’ve always wanted it to be – it’s still not perfect, and never will be, but I’m happy!
Twitter: 450. I have a love/hate relationship with Twitter and I either use it loads or not at all, so I’m not surprised that my growth on there is super slow! I still don’t know how people find it easy to grow on there – share your tips?!
