LIFESTYLE | 23rd Birthday ft. Bristol Foodies Festival

I turned 23 in May and is it just me or does that sound fairly adult-like?!

I thought I’d share a fairly quick little post discussing my 23rd birthday and what I got up to!

First of all, I received the cutest little cake from the lovely people over at bakerdays* – so thank you to them for making me feel super spoilt on my birthday! I received one of the personalised letterbox cakes in the Rich Chocolate Chip flavour and I opted for the Sweet Love Hearts* design. The letterbox cake really drew me in and I honestly think it’s such a cool idea. The cake gets delivered on whatever day you request, so you can send one to someone to arrive on their actual birthday and it will be a complete surprise to them. You can read more about Baker Days here. The size of the cake was perfect and fitted through my letterbox easily – the cake was packaged so well and tasted a m a z i n g. I cannot recommend bakerdays enough and I will definitely be using them in the future! (Use my code: CHARSLITTLEBLOG15 for 15% off!)

I also managed to bag some free tickets to the Bristol Foodies Festival (thanks to the Bristol Bloggers and Influencers group on FB!). Anyone who knows me knows how much I’m obsessed with food, so a festival dedicated to the stuff is just amazing for me. The festival was located on the Downs, near the top of Whiteladies road, and the amount of stalls there was insane. The whole place was packed. My stomach did not know what to do with itself, I wanted to try everything! There was such a wide variety of food and drinks stands, including a Pimm’s teapot (so cool!), a Scone van, a whole tent dedicated to olives and a Prosecco bar – complete with a ‘roof top’ stand (I hope that makes sense, I’m rubbish at explaining things). There was also a main stage located at the front, where various artists were singing and chatting to the crowd.

I went along with three of my friends, my boyfriend and my cousin and even though the weather wasn’t necessarily on our side, we still had fun and really enjoyed the afternoon spent there.

We ate Halloumi Fries (THE best), drank Pimm’s and soaked up the atmosphere of the festival before heading off for the main event – Locked In A Room.

I fancied doing something a bit different for my birthday, as I’m not your typical 23 year old gal who goes out and gets drunk 24/7 (I know, I don’t conform to the norm!) – I just find it a bit boring really and I wanted to do something that we’d all enjoy and could get a little competitive over too. That’s where Locked In A Room came in! There was eight of us – four girls and four boys, so naturally we decided to do girls against boys.

We all managed to get out of the room (only 40% of players manage to get out, so I was very impressed by this, not that I helped my team at all mind you..) in just under 60 minutes, which is the amount of time you get to complete the challenge. It was such a laugh and we all had a really enjoyable day!

We finished off the evening in Slug & Lettuce with cocktails – obviously my cocktails of choice included gin.. – and I genuinely had a really lovely birthday.

Thanks to everyone that made the day special!♡ BlogLovin’ | Tumblr | Instagram | Twitter ♡
