FOOD | Sholay Indian Kitchen, Wapping Wharf

Indian street food beautifully presented? Yes please!

Sholay Indian Kitchen is located on the upper level of Wapping Wharf – somewhere I have never ventured before. Honestly, you all know by now that I live in a little box – so I am making it my mission to explore my home town a lot more! It’s my aim to do a Bristol guide on this little blog at some point..

Anyway, you could definitely say that I jumped at the chance to try out Sholay Indian Kitchen’s gorgeous menu. I adore Indian food, so I was more than delighted to accept! Myself and Kieran opted for the Kale & Onion Bhaji (SO delicious), Tamarind Chicken (definitely my fave!), Grandma’s Curry (this was Kieran’s favourite!), a bowl of Pulao Rice and a small plate of Indian Breads. Everything was mouth-wateringly great and so full of flavour – and I mean, look at that presentation too?! I was living the dream taking photos of all of the food. My favourite style/type of food is definitely Tapas too, as I love to pick little bits of what I want. I can then have as much or as little as I please, so obviously Tapas is perfect for me. I would definitely describe this as Indian Tapas and what could be better than that?!

During Summer/sunny weather, this location is absolutely perfect – we sat outside over looking the rest of Wapping Wharf. All of the shops/restaurants/etc. are in shipping containers, which is such a cool idea. They’re all little tiny places with a lot of outside seating, that are always buzzing with the sound of chatter and laughter. I am so glad I finally visited WW and it definitely won’t be the last time I go. I’ll also be heading back to Sholay Indian Kitchen because the food was a m a z i n g. They also change up their menu seasonally too, so I’m looking forward to trying out some more new dishes from them!

Thank you so much to Sholay Indian Kitchen for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be recommending you and your amazing food to everyone we meet! We are looking forward to eating here again very soon. So, if you’re ever in/near the Bristol area and fancy some Indian food, I could not recommend Sholay Indian Kitchen enough. It’s so quick and easy too, we were waiting no longer than ten minutes for our food which is perfect for someone as impatient as myself!
