What I Got For Christmas: Beauty Edition
Let’s have a look at the beauty bits I was kindly gifted for Christmas!
I’m not even going to bother adding a disclaimer in, because I love reading these type of post’s. It’s also fairly obvious from the title what this post is about, so I’m hoping no one has clicked on this if they don’t like them!
I am very fortunate to have an extremely giving and generous family and I am super grateful for everything I have received. My parent’s save up all year, as they’re genuinely obsessed with Christmas – which is obviously where I get it from too!
So, let’s get on to the beauty bits I received…
Let’s start with the makeup bits! I received a MAC Pro Palette with some single pans – a bronzing powder in the shade Sculpt, a powder blush in the shade BlushBaby, a cream blush in the shade LadyBlush and an eyeshadow in the shade Deep Truth. I haven’t tried much from MAC, so I’m looking forward to trying these out!
I’ve finally got a Tarte Eyeshadow Palette in my collection and I could not be happier about it! I received the Tartelette Toasted Palette and these shades are my absolute jam. They’re super warm toned with a few really lovely shimmer/glitter shades. I’m so excited to get playing and experimenting with this one! I’m sure I’ll get a review post up this year on it too.
So last year, I actually ordered myself the ABH Amrezy Highlighter along with the Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette. Something happened to them in transit and they were sent back and I was refunded, so I never ended up with those two in my makeup collection. Obviously the highlighter was limited edition and I was gutted I couldn’t get my hand’s on it! Flash forward quite a few month’s and I believe the Amrezy highlighter became available again in December and I now have it – yay! It is every bit more beautiful in person, I can’t even tell you! It’s a pretty decently sized highlighter too and I can see it lasting me ages. The packaging is gorgeous as well and I cannot wait to see what this looks like on my skin!
Last, but not least! I also received a back up of my current fave foundation – the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I’m still loving the way this foundation makes my skin look and it doesn’t seem to break me out either. Which is amazing, especially considering it’s medium to full coverage! The only downside to this foundation, is the fact that it comes without a pump – which makes it a little messy. But I love what it does to my skin so much, that I don’t even mind!
Skincare/Bath & Body
Everyone loves receiving a bit of Ted Baker at Christmas right?! I know I do anyway! The two things I got include the Pretty Little Things Mini Trio Gift and the Blush Pink Body Wash. I have never been disappointed with a Ted Baker scent, so I’m looking forward to using these and feeling luxurious! Also, the 200ml shower gel is such a generous size that it literally lasts you forever! I love receiving little useful everyday bits like this for Christmas. They’re fab stocking fillers too.
The other skincare goodie I received was a miniature of the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm. I love Clinique skincare and swear by the anti-redness range for clearing up the redness on my face (along with cutting out citrus!). I’ve always wanted to try the TTDO, so it’s great to have a mini size to try. This size will also be perfect for travelling with too! You’ll definitely be hearing my thoughts on this one, so keep an eye out for that!
One of my all time favourite present’s to receive is perfume – I swear I could probably set up my own perfume shop, I own so many. I don’t think there’s such a thing as too much perfume. I get to wear a different fragrance every day for like three weeks!
Anyway, I have had the Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia perfume on my wish list for SO long now, so I was super happy to unwrap this on Christmas Day! It smells even better than I remember and I just feel so sophisticated when I wear this scent. The packaging and bottle are beautiful too – so luxurious! As Kieran gifted me this perfume, he got a little message engraved for me that reads ‘Happy Christmas Char Love Kieran’. I literally didn’t even know you could get the bottle’s engraved?! He knows that I like to keep pretty perfume bottle’s too, so getting it engraved was perfect.
The second ‘perfume’ (body mist) I received was the Zoella Cosmos Body Mist. I have not yet been disappointed by a fragrance/scent that Zoella has created and this Cosmos one is no different! This mist is probably the most ‘sexy’ (hate that word) and ‘grown up’, of all the fragrances she’s done, I would say. All of her other’s aren’t necessarily ‘young’, I would just say they’re a bit more ‘fun’ and ‘fresh’. However, this one is completely different. You’ll know exactly what I mean if you have it yourself! The bottle is so pretty and I love the holographic lid.
