Reflecting On My 2018 Goals

Let’s have a look back at the goals I set myself for 2018…

Back in January, I set myself a few goals for 2018 that I wanted to complete. So I thought it would be fun to have a little look back and see which ones I completed and which ones still need a little work!

Continue to Blog Frequently – I would say I’ve done quite well on this one. I haven’t been consistent, granted, but I’ve definitely blogged frequently and really enjoyed it. I feel like I’m finally coming into my own with my little blog and my photography style, so I’m finding the whole social media thing a lot more enjoyable than I did throughout 2017 and 2018. Completed.

Grow my Instagram Following – Well this definitely didn’t happen.. Instagram has been a real bitch this year and I’m hoping I’m not the only one that’s only gained 200 followers in one year.. It’s actually a bit embarrassing! I don’t think anyone really understands Instagram, nor can give advice on why they’ve gained or not. It’s just one of those things that either happens for you, or doesn’t – I’m clearly the latter and to be honest, I think I’d rather be happier with my own feed/photo’s. So this is what I’ll continue to work on throughout 2019 – bettering myself and my photographic skills! Incomplete.

Make Photography my Full-Time Career – Yeah, this definitely did not happen! I don’t know what I was thinking! My confidence with my photography is nowhere near where it should be, to be able to turn it into a full time career. I think I would also rather do it part time anyway, as I don’t want to lose my love for it. I really enjoyed all of the wedding’s and studio shoot’s I did throughout 2018 and hopefully this can continue into 2019 too! Incomplete.

Save for a House Deposit – I didn’t technically save the money myself for my house deposit, I got the majority of it from my redundancy pay out.. So this is something that I need to continue pushing for throughout 2019 – I can do this! Half Complete.

Continue Exploring More – I personally think I did really well with this one, as I visited two completely new countries; Bali and Morocco. I also visited Disneyland, Paris and Centre Parcs too! Obviously travel means spending a lot of money, so it’s not always easy for me to do, however I would love to continue exploring new places – whether that’s abroad or within the UK. Completed.

Get Better at Saving Money – I haven’t done too badly with this one, as I’ve earnt a very small amount of money through my blog this year and also with some paid work within photography. So I have saved all of that money and I also tried to save money through my monthly income too. I used to find saving SO easy, but these day’s it’s so much harder! I have so much more that I need to save for, but also so much more that I need to pay for too. So it can be difficult sometimes – but I need to remember that buying a new item of clothing or a new beauty item, isn’t going to help towards a house deposit or a holiday.. Half Completed.

All in all, I personally don’t think I did that badly with completing my goals. So I’m quite happy with myself! One of my other goal’s was to not set myself unrealistic goals, so I definitely achieved that one too. Let’s roll on 2019 and keep an eye out for my 2019 goals coming soon! Happy New Year everyone!

Did you set yourself any goals for 2018? Did you complete any? I’d love to know!xoxo♡ BlogLovin’ | Tumblr | Instagram | Twitter
