A Mini London Travel Diary

A fleeting visit to London..

One of my best friend’s has just moved to London (sad face), so myself and Kieran visited them last weekend and it was so lovely, that I thought I’d share a little post with what we got up to!

We arrived on the Saturday, had a little tour of their flat – which is beautiful! – and then took the tube to Peckham, to have a wander round and a drink at Peckham Levels. This place is honestly SO cool! It’s a multi-storey car park that has been turned into a work space for creatives, a place for small businesses to grow and for communities to come together – it’s honestly such a fab idea and I highly recommend popping by! We had a few drinks and a bite to eat on the roof and I can imagine this is gorgeous when the weather is lush. There’s the most insane view across the city too.

Saturday was definitely jam packed because after we’d spent some time in Peckham, we were back on the tube to Battersea to go to probably the coolest pub I’ve ever been to? It’s called Four Thieves and has an arcade inside (and upstairs). We played a 7-hole game of mini golf, which was absolutely hilarious, especially once everyone had had a couple of gins/beers.. and then decided to have a go on the Moonshine Racing. Honestly, this place was so much fun and the atmosphere was awesome. You do have to be 21 or over to get in, but definitely head here too!

After all of that fun, it was time to head back to the flat to get ready for dinner – my fave! We had pizza at Stockwell Continental and it was so yummy! You guys know I love a good pizza and this one did not disappoint. I started off with Fried Polenta Cubes (YUM) and finished with Dark Chocolate Ice Cream – yes, it was as incredible as it sounds! With full bellies and slightly tipsy heads, we took a stroll back to the flat and went to bed ready for another full day on Sunday.

Firstly, thanks to my lush friend for letting me borrow her gorgeous long denim dress – I had only packed jeans and shorts, as it was supposed to be hot on the Sunday, but unfortunately it was not hot enough for shorts and not cold enough for jeans.. I know, I hate me too.. Please do also ignore the fact that my bag is undone, it’s literally like this 24/7, but I didn’t think about doing it up for the photo..

We had a chilled morning with jam croissants and coffee (water for me, obvs..) for breakfast and just took our time with getting ready for the day. The plan was to head to Camden Market, as myself and Kieran have never been (!!) and it was awesome! There was so much amazing food to choose from! Kieran opted for Chinese Chicken and Noodles – he got such an array of flavours and his little pot was full to the brim, he could hardly finish it and that’s saying something! It was beyond yum though and I definitely had food envy. The next time I go back, I will 100% be having the pizza slice that’s the size of my head – I don’t know why I didn’t have it?! Camden Market is where I found the donut wall of dreams and some of the best churros I’ve had.

Once our bellies were full, again, we took a leisurely walk along the canal and also ended up stumbling upon the Canopy Market at Kings Cross. There were so many gorgeous plants and pots, etc. for sale – I wanted it all! So much food and drink too. It says a lot about a market when it’s popped directly in front of a Waitrose too..

I also quickly wanted to share this super Summer-y outfit (and check out my friend’s gorgeous interior behind me..) with you, the crop top is from Femme Luxe* and I think it’s so cute. I wouldn’t usually pick out this brown-y colour, but I think it suits me!? I love it with my American Apparel shorts too.

Our jam packed weekend was so so amazing and I can’t wait for many more visits to London to see my friend – she can’t get away from me that easily! It was definitely a different kind of visit to what I’m used to, as usually I spend the whole time right in the centre at Oxford and Hyde Park, etc. It was so fab to discover new gems that I’m sure we’ll visit again! Thanks to our lovely friends for a fabulous weekend!

Have you got a mini weekend trip planned? I’d love to know!xoxo
