A Little Look Back on December

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

December’s round-up is always the worst one to put together, only because December is my all time favourite time of the year. So writing this post means that the festive period is officially over. Sad times! Let’s get on with my monthly recap for December..

Sharing The Love

Instagram: My favourite photo’s include the following;

  • Madi Williams, mmadiwilliams – I am absolutely loving Madi’s new editing and photography style and I always love seeing her photos pop up on my feed. This photo in particular caught my eye – I adore the pampass grass!
  • Gemma Louise, gemellisx – Oh Gemma did not disappoint with her festive content this year! I am obsessed! Look how beautiful this Christmas flat lay is!? So much glitter, I love it.
  • Georgia De Lotz, georgiadelotz – Georgia is definitely one of the most talented photographers I know and I always appreciate how creative she is with her photography. I love this festive Christmas card photo so much!

Twitter: The only tweet I actually liked throughout the whole of December was that Christmas card photo tweeted by Kim Kardashian West. I also love how she told the story of North being edited into the photo.. Hilariously brilliant!

My Most Loved

Blog: I think I’m getting a little bit bored of the Nano Teeth Whitening review being my most loved now.. I want something a bit more current, or just at least something different, to make the cut now! But it’s still pretty impressive that it’s my most read post, still!

Instagram: I decided to take a little festive flat lay the other day, as part of a gifted collaboration, and it went down quite well. It was my most liked photo for December! I’ve been toying with the idea of including more flat lays on my feed again and this has definitely confirmed that idea for me.

Monthly Favourites

Fave Beauty and/or Skincare Product: For the first time in forever, I actually used false lashes! I was gifted some a while back and I always love how they fully complete a makeup look. The Eylure Pre-Glued Natural Lashes 031* are perfect for me. I’m so bad at applying fake eyelashes, so this pre-glued offering makes my life a lot easier! I 100% recommend these for anyone who struggles with lashes, like me, as they’re genuinely a godsend.

Fave Song: Every single Christmas song! My favourite Christmas song is Last Christmas by Wham! Ariana Grande has also released her own version and I love that one too.

Fave Food: Chilli Cheese Bites. I’ve found Burger King-style cheese bites in B&M and they’re only £1 for 12!

Fave Restaurant: Prezzo has actually been my fave this month, purely based on their new menu and new festive menu. They have some fab choices!

Fave Purchase: My new Christmas decorations of course! We also bought a festive puzzle and we’ve enjoyed playing that together over the past few days.

Fave TV Show: Mind Hunter. We’ve just started watching this and we’re hooked already! We also finished season 2 of Stranger Things and absolutely loved it.

Fave Film: The Holiday Calendar on Netflix. What a feel good film, I absolutely loved this and plan to watch it every year from now on – as long as it stays on Netflix!

Fave Event/Moment: Christmas Day! I always love Christmas Day and all the days surrounding it, especially the lead up. I didn’t do anywhere near as many festive things this year as I would have liked to (queue another new job on the horizon..), but I still enjoyed myself with family and friends.

Fave Podcast: Sh**ged Married Annoyed with Chris and Rosie Ramsay. Still! I love listening in on these two’s conversations, they crack me up. It’s a real easy listening podcast that, for some reason, seems to send me off to sleep – I’m not complaining! I just have to keep re-listening to all of the episodes.

Fave Item of Clothing: I’ve been loving wearing my M&S Mom Jeans with my Black Hi-Top Converse!

Fave Blog Post Written: I finally got round to publishing a fashion post and I loved it! I definitely need to star creating more fashion content for this year.

New Discoveries

Instagram: Lauren, huntersandheels (why have I only just started following Lauren?!). Only one new discovery goes to show how little I’ve been active on Instagram lately!

Looking Forward To

Booking: in some time to catch up on everything blogging and photography related. December was so hectic and has pushed me even further behind with everything!

Planning: a potential American road trip.. We are going to have a chat with STA travel and see if this once in a lifetime trip is going to be within budget for this year (fingers crossed!).

Celebrating: a new year. Happy New Year everyone!

Watching: the new series of Dancing on Ice, The Greatest Dancer annnnd The Masked Singer. Let’s hope they all live up to expectations!

Seeing: a clean house! I feel like December always gets your house in a bit of a hot mess, what with all the presents for yourself and other people. So it will be good to give it a good clean for the start of a new year.

Buying: nothing really. We got everything we wanted for Christmas! Any purchases for this year will need to be well thought out – especially if we want to visit America..

Eating: more healthy food’s! I’ve started adding more veggies into our meals, as December was not a healthy month.. I also received a lovely Vegetarian cook book for Christmas, so there’s no excuse now!

Monthly Summary

Instagram: 3,295. I’ve lost my 3.3k, gah. But I’m happy with the content that I’m producing and that’s the main thing, as I’m so self critical! So everything else after that is just a bonus to me.

Blog Views: 450+. The same as last month, so at least that’s consistent!

BlogLovin’ Count: 677. Yay, at least I can rely on my blog followers. My blog is exactly what I make it, so it makes me really happy that people are still following along with blog journey’s.

Blog Posts: 3, again. So I need to kick my butt into gear, keep my head down and start producing way more content. I love doing it, so I need to stop thinking of blogging as a ‘chore’ and remember why I love doing it. It shouldn’t be stressful and I’m making it, so I need to stop.

Twitter: 501. Like I said last month, people seem to be a lot kinder with the unfollow button on this app!

Pinterest Views: 2.1k views. 450 engagement. As usual, I have lost interest with Pinterest – I just genuinely do not have the time right now to be keeping up with every single platform. My main focus is my blog and then Instagram.
