Declutter everything

When was the last time you had a good clear out? Now is a great time to do some sorting and organising. From decluttering your kitchen cupboards to sorting out your clothes, you can go through your entire house of flat over the next few weeks. Be ruthless and get rid of the things you no longer want, like or need. It could also be a good idea to put some of the things you don’t want right now, such as furniture or clothing, into self storage, helping to save some space around your home. After a thorough decluttering, you’ll have more space and fewer things to keep clean – making it much easier to enjoy your home.

Be organised

Everything in your home should have its place. Making the most of storage will help you put things away, and keep your home neat and organised. From cute and quirky storage trunks to a smarter wardrobe system, find ways of putting everything in its place to make your home more open and neater, making it a breeze to clean and tidy in the future.

Put your stamp on it

One reason why a place might not feel like yours is because you haven’t put your stamp on it yet. Now is the perfect time to decorate and add some touches that will make your home more unique to you. You could start painting, change your room layout and add in accessories that will reflect your personal tastes. Adding shelves and styling them can be an excellent way to show off your decor skills and create features that are truly unique to you.

Develop a cleaning routine

It’s easy to let your chores fall behind, especially if you have a busy job and social life that mean you aren’t at home much. But now that you’ve got a little more time on your hands, why not develop a cleaning routine you can stick to? Your cleaning routine will help you tick off all of those jobs that build up towards the weekend, helping you to stay in control. With a clean place to live, you’ll feel much more at home and be able to enjoy it much more.

Whatever your current situation, it’s likely you’re spending more time at home than ever, so why not make the most of it? With jobs to get on with and the time to finally do them, you could help work towards your dream home that will make you feel happy and relaxed within it. Where will you start with yours?
