A Festive Christmas Day Makeup Look.

The makeup that I’ll be wearing on Christmas Day!

Christmas Day is the perfect excuse to get a bit dressed up and feel good. I like to make an effort with my makeup and outfit on Christmas Day. But then add slippers for ultimate comfort levels! Also, if you can’t wear a glittery eye makeup look on Christmas Day then when can you?! I opted for a burgundy red lip for this look. However, I definitely won’t bother with lipstick on the actual day because; food.

Firstly, I started with my eye makeup. I applied the Urban Decay Original Primer Potion {aff link}, to prime my eyes, and then I patted a light amount of setting powder over the top. Using the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette and a big fluffy blending brush, I applied ‘Mousse’ in the crease of my eye. Then using a smaller fluffy brush I applied a mixture of ‘Peanut Butter’ and ‘Truffled’ on the outer portion of my eyelid. I blended all of these shades together with a big fluffy blending brush.

Now for the best bit… Applying glitter! I used the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow {aff link} in the shade ‘Kitten Karma’. I absolutely love this stuff and I want every shade! It’s so beautiful and glittery, I’m obsessed.

Time for the face! I applied a thin layer of the Glossier Priming Moisturiser {aff link} and, using my damp beauty blender, I bounced my Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation {aff link} evenly into my skin. I love this foundation and find that it looks really lovely when applied with a beauty blender. Taking a fan brush, I lightly swept the Maybelline Fit Me Powder {aff link} all over my face to set my foundation.

To bronze and lightly contour, I used the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer {aff link}. This stuff smells so good! I love the tone of this bronzer too – it’s not too cool or too warm, it’s perfect. I then added a little bit of colour to my cheeks with the theBalm Frat Boy Blush. Highlighting is my favourite part of any makeup look and I knew I wanted a strong and blinding highlight. So there’s only one highlighter for that job – the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter {aff link} in the shade ‘Champagne Pop’. This highlighter is so silky smooth and beautiful.

Next, I moved on to my lower lash line where I applied a mixture of ‘Mousse’ and ‘Peanut Butter’. Applying your eyeshadow to the lower lash line when wearing a full face of makeup, really ties the whole eyeshadow look together nicely. For my eyebrows I always use the NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade {aff link} with an angled eyebrow brush. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever use another eyebrow product at this rate! Then, after using an eyelash curler, I applied a generous coat of the Ciate Wonderwand Mascara to both my top and bottom lashes.

To finish the Christmas Day makeup look, I applied the Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade ‘Avenue’. A gorgeous burgundy deep brick red – perfect for Winter and the festive period! I filmed this makeup look for IGTV, which you can watch here!
