Our Christmas Eve Traditions.
How we usually spend our Christmas Eve…
We make things festive AF! We eat all the food, watch at least one Christmas film and spend it with friends and family. However, this year will be a little different due to the restrictions. So I’m going to reflect on our usual Christmas Eve traditions, which will be adapted to just myself and Kieran this year.
Even though Christmas is looking very different this year, I still wanted to put together this post to share our usual family tradition. We don’t tend to make plans for the day as every year, up until this year, I’ve worked most of the day. Along with other people in my family too. So our ‘tradition’ is mainly based around the evening!
We head to our family friend’s house for a takeaway (Indian, of course – my fave!) and a Christmas movie. Which usually ends up being National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. It’s such a classic and always has us in fits of laughter. It never gets old! Sometimes we’ll watch two movies and other times we’ll just chill and chat, whilst eating all the Christmas snacks. We then go back home before midnight to get some shut eye before the big day.
This year is going to be different for all of us, in some way. I’m just looking forward to spending Christmas Day with my family. I know that’s not the case for everyone and I’m sending you all my love. The best thing is to try and enjoy the day, as best as you can, and know that next year will be even better! If you’re struggling for ideas on how to enjoy Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this year, I have lots of festive activities that you can do. I’m all about enjoying the little things in life and even though I can be quite negative sometimes, now is the time to really find comfort and joy in those little things.
How will you be spending Christmas Eve this year? What are some of your Christmas Eve traditions?
